Bodhi is a professional Mental Health and Addictions Counsellor with 30 yrs. of experience in this field of study. They educate, advocate, facilitate, encourage and act as an ally for and with children, youth and families. Bodhi’s compassion and understanding for marginalized populations goes beyond pen and paper. Their lived experience has given them a valuable perspective from the inside out. Specifically working within marginalized populations and playing a vital role in suicide prevention. Bodhi has sat & spoke with compassion and determination on floors in: jail cells, secure mental health facilities, school hallways, chairs in: hospitals, court rooms, family homes and communities, at tables in: government agencies, boardrooms, non-profit organizations and health care ministries. Bodhi has educated and spoken to: students and teachers in schools (K-12), social work students at universities, professionals in health care systems, parent groups, youth at conferences and at public forums. Bodhi is a leading voice in creating an inclusive culture for us all and invites all intelligent hearts to see, hear and make space for all humans.

Bodhi is married to writer, Carol Thompson Gardner, the author of LILLY LOVES BEARDS, a children’s picture book supporting gender-creative and trans children. Together they advocate for diversity and inclusion by valuing differences as colourful threads in the tapestry of human family.
